Best 5 Free Phone Apps to Use During College
Let’s be honest, you’re reading this article on your phone instead of studying right now, and hey that’s fine I’m not complaining. But that’s just to show you how much we are connected with this little device in our pockets and if we spend that much time with something then it might as well be beneficial to us instead of wasting our personal time with doom scrolling and watching reaction videos.
To keep it short and simple, here are my top 5 applications that any student should download on their smartphone that would be a much better help than TikTok :
5) Daily Note
This app right here lets you journal easily on the daily basis. We as students are always going through different and new experiences every single moment on our college lives. So writing those memories down have a lot of benefits, by giving you a chance to reflect on yourself and also it’s a fun time going back in memories after many months if not years later :D
4) Google Keep
I talked about this app before, and there’s a reason I’m bringing it up again. It’s simply soo easy and simple to use which is what you need when you have such a busy schedule day during the week. When you’re in class and you catch something important the professor says, you simply open the app and write it down in it’s separate note box. I use this app since it’s 100% free AND portable, meaning you login to your google account on your computer and everything is synced. Also it’s great to accompany with your Google Docs since all you have to do is drag and drop to your document.
3) Pedometer
A healthy mind needs a healthy body. Many students ignore their health status during these stressful days, which is not how you should treat your system. In a day and age where numbers is a very big factor in why we achieve various things in our lives, this app is a simple steps counter that will display for you how much you walked that day, the calories you burnt and you can set your own goals so you can hit them on the daily. As simple and obvious as it is, walking helps your blood flow better, which will help you think a little better and also for the love of god just breath some fresh air instead of rotting in your college dorm dammit.
2) Calendar
I honestly have no idea how so many people can survive these days without having the basic necessity to know the dates of the month and the events coming up, they honestly scare me…
This is your tool for time management. Use it well and you will finish all your responsibilities for sure. This software can be color coded which helps a lot when you for example label important exams or assignments in red and classes as blue. Also in it is a built in tasks section where it’s basically a bullet list for you to tick and finish which is something I use since I wake up until I go back to sleep.
1) Ivy Wallet
Me personally, I’m VERY terrible when it comes to financial management. It’s like I'm teenage white girl going shopping to the mall every time I have an extra penny or two with me, and I’m not even exaggerating.
This lovely open source application will help you manage and track every single cent you spend, sent future payments, create budgets and much more. Since it’s open source there are no ads whatsoever unlike all the other options in the same niche and most importantly you can extract all the date you have saved since the last 3 years so you can use this app until you graduate :D
