What to do During Your Summer Break in University
The summer sunshine has finally arrived where the light is hot nd strong, perfect for a cold glass of Piña colada on the beach to relax.
But unfortunately, sometimes as a college student, building your future won’t allow for relaxation or breaks, that is why summer holidays are a great option to have some progress done in preparations for the final stages of university and simply growing up and handling more serious and beneficial responsibilities.
Getting a Part Time Job
Any source of income, as long as legal and moral should always be accepted and kept in mind, and as a student, the responsibilities expected from you may be much lighter nowadays than later on. So saving as much cash as possible during the early stages in your life when your job is to learn then that will surely help you out with your steps in life after graduations and sometimes even a bit later depending on how much you managed to save properly.
Completing a Personal Project For Portfolio
Many students really turn a blind eye to this specific medium that almost any job would appreciate before getting hired and that is to demonstrate previous work in an aesthetic and effect way, whatever type of project was worked on. Having a one page site or folder that can demonstrate previous work made for a similar job will always x3 your chances of being hired. So make sure to work on a good and high quality projects portfolio, and since you might as well start on passion projects since there is no money expected at this early stage of pre-graduation. So make sure to take your time to assure that the quality of the displayed projects on your portfolio with an optional ready explanation on how that project was done fully.
Starting/Finishing a Thesis Report
A lot if not the majority of college students won’t be able to graduate unless they submit a Thesis report under a specific subject with a well curated and managed topic with heavy, fact checked and logical research. This obviously mostly differentiates between each subject and what would be needed, all I need for me thesis next year is my laptop and a new notebook. Starting on my own thesis this summer. Hell yea!
Apprenticeship & Internship
As once told by Oppenheim himself
“Theory will only take you so far”
Getting a hands on experience is majorly needed before the graduation of university, since all job applications now require ridiculous expectations and +10 years of experience from a BSc degree kid, it is very indeed near impossible to find a job after graduating. That is why having any type of real scenario training is very valuable and usually ends up with some newly opened opportunities that may become available after graduation. It only and will always purely be dependant on your ability to follow the orders and deliver as best as humanly possible for you to make sure to impress whoever you are learning from. Paid or not, it’s always beneficial when you get to pour your knowledge and skills you have been training for a long time in use.
